Traffic Alert: Traffic shift planned for emergency pipe replacement on Route 58 Business in Henry County
SALEM – Beginning tomorrow, Friday, August 21, a section of westbound Route 58 Business (A. L. Philpott Highway) in Henry County will be closed for an emergency pipe replacement.
All traffic will be shifted onto the eastbound lanes, with one lane for each direction. Barrels will separate opposing traffic, and the speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph within the traffic shift.
The traffic shift will begin at Dicky’s Drive and end at Route 1747 (Summit Road) and Route 1746 (Machinery Drive). Drivers entering Route 58 Business from Dicky’s Drive, Dug Mountain Road or Summit Road will be limited to right turns for the duration of the closure. Drivers entering Route 58 Business from Machinery Drive will still be able to turn left or right.
Drivers should pay attention to message boards and signs in the area. Work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. Friday, August 28, weather permitting.
